Geological 3D-model of Lower Saxony’s lower subsurface as 3D PDF (WMS Service)
Description
The geological 3D model of Lower Saxony’s deeper subsurface is based on data from the Geotectonic Atlas of Northwest Germany and the German North Sea Sector (Baldschuhn et al. 2001).
The 14 stratigraphic units of the Geotectonic Atlas are depicted. Additional levels are the quaternary base area (based on: NLfB 1995) as well as the terrain surface integrated.
The geological units are depicted in the 3D model as geobody or as base surfaces. No areas were modeled in areas of insufficient data. In general, it should be noted that the Geotectonic Atlas is up-to-date in 1993 and recent information is not yet incorporated.
The model is provided by sheet section (TK100) in portfolio PDF files. In addition to the model as 3D PDF, the portfolio also contains instructions, explanations on geology and further links. Adobe Acrobat Reader is recommended in the current version to display the portfolio and 3D PDF files correctly.
