Description
Legal basis: § 4 Federal Hunting Act (BJagdG).
Hunting law is the exclusive power to keep, hunt and appropriate wild animals subject to hunting law in a given area.
Hunting districts are districts in which hunting may be practiced. They are either self-hunting districts (at least 75 hectares of contiguous area) or community hunting districts (areas that do not belong to a self-hunting district of at least 150 hectares). Areas in which hunting rests are pacified districts according to § 6 BJagdG.
The boundaries of the hunting districts and the pacified districts are determined by the Lower Hunting Authority of the district.
