Description
The red clay or Pelitröt forms the hanging part of the two-divided Upper Buntsandstein. The red clay is only preserved in the eastern part of the study area in edge sinks of salt structures. Further west there is no redness due to the late Jurassic to Cretaceous erosion. The low altitude generally increases from north to south and reaches its maximum in the edges of Linda/Liane. High altitudes are mainly located in the northern area of the salt cushion Hulda.
