Description
Topographic maps are landscape-descriptive maps that depict the earth’s surface in its various manifestations — settlements, traffic routes, borders, waters, terrain forms and vegetation — in accordance with the map scale, as complete and clear as possible. Signatures and map fonts help to explain the topographical objects.
The 1:25 000 scale topographic map is produced using the “Digital Guided Topographic Map (ATKIS-DTK)” method based on the Digital Basic Landscape Model (Base DLM). It complies with the regulations applicable throughout Germany for the map content, the geodetic basis, the character key and the layout. The update takes place in periodic cycles.
