Erosion/accumulation rates on the Andalusian coast
Description
Calculation of coastal erosion rates that characterize the coast from the point of view of its vulnerability; higher rates of negative erosion (regressive cost), higher vulnerability, and higher rates of positive erosion (progressive cost) lower vulnerability. The erosion rates of the entire Andalusian coast in the period 1956-2013 are included and assessed point by point (one value per 50m of coastline) in the following intervals (1956-2013, 1956-2011, 1956-1977, 1977-2013, 1977-2011, 1977-2001, 2001-2013, 2001-2011, 2001-2007, 2007-2013, 2007-2009, 2009-2013, 2009-2011 and 2011-2013). An article published in the 2011 Environmental Report (IMA) on specific stretches of coastline of particular interest in terms of coastal dynamics is included in reference to the rates calculated in an earlier version in the periods 1956-1977 and 1977-2007 (the data in this article have been revised subsequently and may maintain some differences with the data referred to in this metadata, although their conclusions in terms of coastal dynamics remain of interest.)
