Description
The map provides up-to-date information on the distribution and condition of the bog soils in the state of Brandenburg. With the aim of providing a peat map related to 2013 extensive, up to now unused data for the distribution of bog soils in Brandenburg has been processed into an overlap-free map and comprehensive database of moor floor profiles. In order to record the current state of the moor soils, soil surveys were carried out again and statistically evaluated at 7,725 sites with sufficient data bases. As a result, thickness loss rates for agricultural bog sites in Brandenburg could be derived.
