WMS NW Digital Orthophotos
Description
Orthophotos are high-resolution, distortion-free, true-to-scale images of the Earth’s surface. They are produced by photogrammetric methods in knowledge of the orientation parameters and with the addition of a digital elevation model from aerial images, which are available as vertical images. Digital orthophotos are georeferenced, are available nationwide and are renewed in a 2-year cycle. They are manufactured according to the product standard of the country based on the determinations of an AdV standard (AdV Association of Surveying Administrations of the Länder) and have a soil resolution of 10 cm/pixel. These are 4-channel multispectral images with the channel assignment RGBI (red-green-blue-near infrared). With the 2018 image flight, the processing of the DOP as True Orthophoto was introduced with the same geometric and radiometric qualities as before. The transition to the new product quality will be completed with the processing of the image flight 2020 in mid-2021.
