Species Ranges Article 17 (period 2013-2018)

Description

The WMS (Web Map Service) called "Article 17 Species Ranges (period 2013-2018)" allows the visualization and consultation of the set of data representing the species of community interest. These are a set of species selected as especially relevant for the conservation of biodiversity in the European Union. Their protection is covered by Directive 92/43/CEE or the Habitats Directive. This data set shows their geographical extent, evaluated in the period 2013 to 2018, according to the information provided by the competent administrations. The extent of this distribution is a key factor when it comes to knowing its territorial trends and thus contributing to maintaining or achieving a favorable conservation area status in the entire biogeographic region.
