Population by statistical area

Description

Includes population figures by statistical area. The number of population is reported on the last day of the reference year (31.12.). Statistical areas include municipalities, sub-regions, counties, major regions, regional State Administrative Agencies (AVI) and Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY). The statistical variables of the data are: total population of the region (women_p), the population of the region as a whole (vaesto_p), the number of men (men) and the proportion of men in the population of the region (men_p), the number of women (women) and the proportion of women in the region (women_p), the population aged under 15 (ika_0_14) and the proportion of persons aged under 15 (ika_0_14p), the proportion of persons aged 15 to 64 (ika_15_64) and those aged 15 to 64 (ika_15_64), persons aged 65 and over (ika_65_p) and those aged 65 and over (ika_65_p). In addition, the data includes the year (year) and the date (til_year) of the statistical data. The data is suitable for examining population numbers and carrying out various regional analyses.
