Description
**How has the material been compiled?**
MOT’s definition of business subsidies comes from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment’s own Corporate Support Survey (7/2012). The material combines direct business subsidies from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, Tekes, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Finnish Transport Agency, the Energy Market Authority and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, which are public under the law.
There is also an updated version of the database MOT Business Support 2010-2016.

**What does the Finnish Broadcasting Company’s MOT’s business support material contain?**
The data contains information on the payments of various business subsidies over several years. The data contain data on the allocation of direct business subsidies worth more than EUR 7.5 billion.
We published data on subsidies paid in 2011 and earlier in autumn 2012, since then the data has been updated annually. The sums represent money that has actually been transferred to corporate accounts.
Please note that the time series of different support formats are slightly different. Since 2008, all the most important subsidies are included, so the comparison gives a reliable picture of the development of subsidies.
