Müncheberger Soil Quality Rating (VBK50)
Description
Based on the data from the preliminary soil map of Saxony-Anhalt, the evaluation is carried out for the data level Müncheberger Soil Quality Rating (SQR). The Müncheberger Soil Quality Rating is an original method for the uniform quantification of the suitability and limitation of soils with regard to their use as arable land or grassland over larger regions (MÜLLER et al. 2008). In this dataset, soils currently under forest or grassland were also assessed in terms of their suitability as arable land. Related data fields: SQR: Soil quality rating. Integer value field regarding suitability as arable land.
The range of values ranges from 13 to 96 points. Class 1: very low (< 20 points); Class 2: low (20 – < 40 points); Class 3: average (40 – < 60 points); Class 4: high (60 – < 80 points); Class 5: very high (>= 80 points).
