Environmental Ordinance, Green Blue Values
Description
The province strives for a coherent approach to nature, landscape and water that enhances environmental quality and recreational opportunities and helps to better absorb the effects of climate change on nature and the water system. In order to promote the robustness of the system, areas have been included as a connection between the Natuur Netwerk Brabant and the Rural Area; the Green Blue Values. The location Green blue values lies within the Rural area in areas with important side functions for nature and water. Green areas in and near the urban environment are also sometimes included within Green Blue values. These areas offer excellent opportunities for recreation, extensive forms of agriculture and multifunctional land use or extensive development of urban development. If the location is located over the Stedelijk area there are important green-blue values or it is important to strengthen environmental quality that extensive urbanisation takes place with a balanced green-red ratio.
Within Green Blue values, the policy is aimed at preserving and, above all, developing a climate-proof and resilient water system and the development of green blue values, nature and landscape.
