New Aquitaine: Regional Natural Park (PNR) — Perimeters (surfacic)

Description

This dataset contains the perimeters of the regional natural parks of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. A regional natural park is one of the protected natural areas (ENPs) that are designated or managed within an international, community, national or local framework with a view to achieving specific natural heritage conservation objectives. The aim of regional natural parks is to enhance vast areas of great cultural and natural interest, and to ensure the sustainable development of these territories whose rural character is often very assertive. They are created as a result of the desire of the local and regional authorities (municipalities, communities of municipalities, departments, regions) to implement a territorial project resulting in the drafting of a charter. A park is labelled for a maximum period of 12 years by the state, and can be renewed. It is classified in IUCN category V (protected landscapes). Legal references: Articles L333-1 to L333-3 and R333-1 to R333-16 of the Environmental Code.
