Report: Macrozoobenthos: Folding point “Stüverslegde” (1997-2000)
Description
As part of the overall project “Alternative Planning Stüverslegde”, benthosbiological wattage and gutter studies were carried out in the area of the folding site “Stüverslegde” (1997-1998) and at a possible alternative folding site “Östl. Neiderplate” (2000). In addition, previous surveys from the watts of watts (sensitivity scoring 1988) and the gutters of the area (check investigations on EUROPIPE construction 1993-1997) were also evaluated in order to evaluate and classify the results into the whole area of “Langee rear watts”. [...] In the study area “Stüverslegde” 89 species of macrofauna and 10 fish species were identified. Due to a heterogeneously distributed and diverse substrate structure, the area is populated by a species-rich epi- and endofauna, including various faun elements that can be classified as potentially sensitive. 26 species were found in the adjacent wattage ranges. In the “Östl. Neiderplate” area, 41 macrofauna species and 3 fish species were found, with the sample size being significantly lower there. Mussels and some species of hard soil fauna were also present here. In total, species of sand-soil fauna predominate. [...] In view of the potential sensitivity of the benthic settlement found, the establishment of a longer-term monitoring programme accompanying measures is recommended when the folding site “Stüverslegde” is used in the future. The “Östl. Neiderplate” area represents a suitable alternative to the “Stüverslegde” area on the basis of the biological data available so far.
