Description
The present study deals primarily with the undeclared wintering of the adult animals of Alderia modesta. [...] Studies were also carried out on the requirements caused by cold and restricted food supply during the winter and their influence on population biological parameters (dry weight, body length and reproduction). In this context, the duration of embryonic development was determined at different temperatures. Another aspect was the spread of A. modesta in the East Frisian region, which hitherto was only incomplete. In addition, the food spectrum of the species has been studied in more detail. [...] The distribution of Alderia modesta was sampled from September 1990 to August 1991 in East Frisia on the North Sea island of Norderney and along the coastline between the Ems Island of Hatzumer Sand and Neßmersiel [...]’
