The main dike between Jade-Wapelersiel and Norderschweiburg (Southern Jadebusen [...]) has a considerable understick and is therefore to be increased and strengthened in the coming years as a matter of priority. [...]

Oldenburg dyke band commissioned to investigate possibly eligible areas in the dike foreland of the southern Jadebusen. [...]
In 1990/91, initial studies were already carried out for possible cleavages in the southern Jadebusen, including vegetation, epigean invertebrates and avifauna. During the raft years, almost the entire area was intensively absorbed in terms of vegetation and avifauna; in addition, invertebrate fauna and altitude levelling were investigated on selected transects. Intensive research was also carried out on a puddle located in the area and an adjacent comparator area, the development of which has been monitored since 1990.
