Description
The main dyke between Hobenbrake and Beckmannsfeld (Eastern Jadebusen [...]) has a significant under-stick and is therefore to be increased and reinforced primarily in the coming years. [...]
For this dyke reinforcement additionally Klei needs. This is to be removed from the dyke foreland, if sufficient quantities of leaching are not available in the inland, as in previous dyke construction measures.
Mining in salt meadows would make use of areas that, due to their uniqueness, are generally considered valuable as habitats for plants and animals from a nature conservation point of view. [...]
In order to provide assistance for the upcoming decision-making process for an objective discussion, the Lower Saxony State Office for Ecology — Coastal Research Centre was founded in 1990 by II. Oldenburg’s dyke tape commissioned to investigate potentially eligible areas in the dyke foreland of the eastern Jadebusen. [...]
In consultation with the planning authorities and the II. Oldenburg’s dyke tape was then examined in 1994 in as early as 1990/91 and an additional search room was carried out. Vegetation, epigeic invertebrates and avifauna were recorded. The results of these recent studies, as well as those already carried out in 1990/91, are summarised in this work. [...]
