Description
During 1994, the company “Den Norks Stats Oljeselskap” (STATOIL) operated the landing of two gas pipelines from the Norwegian natural gas fields to the mainland of Lower Saxony. In the area of the Lower Saxony coast, the pipelines pass through the catchment area of the Accumer Ee and thus also through the area of the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park. for ecology from spring 1994 to spring 1997, the surveys for the subproject “Endobenthos in Sublitoral” were carried out within the comprehensive overall surveys. Twice a year, in spring and early autumn, three parallel samples with a van Veen jaw gripper were collected at up to 78 stations, evaluated and the results presented in annual reports. This final report evaluates the data from the entire investigation period and finalises the impact of the pipeline laying on the sublitoral endobenthos. This evaluation also includes, as far as possible, the data from preliminary investigations in 1993, which had been collected by the GKSS Research Center Geethacht at the time. [...]
