Description
The Wadden Sea, a habitat of recognised high conservation value and of great international importance, lies within the sphere of influence of the estuaries of several large continental rivers. The nutrient fruits they introduced have led to detectable changes in the nutrient dynamics of this region. [...] The present evaluation of results of a permanent observation station at Norderney represents the development of nutrient concentrations for the period 1985 to 1996. It was compiled on the basis of data collected within the framework of the joint federal-state measurement programme for the North Sea (BLMP) and the Lower Saxony surveillance programme.
