Description
With regard to planned dyke construction measures in Jadebusen, the Coast Research Centre, including preparatory work, has been carrying out ecological studies since 1989 to provide decision-making aids in the selection of possible new clerical centres.
The investigations are divided into a salt marsh development-oriented work area, in which the repopulation and the ecosystem integration of former farms are examined and ecologically evaluated, and a construction-oriented area in which different dike suburban areas from the perspective of ecology and nature conservation are examined for their suitability as possible pudding areas.
In order to process these questions, 15 representative test areas for the development of puddles were selected in the jadebusen area (8 puddles of different ages and 7 unloaded comparator areas) and 7 so-called “search rooms” (of which 3 in the western Jadebusen), which appear to be most suitable for clovers in the respective area.
Morphological studies and surveys of vegetation, epi- and endogenic invertebrate fauna as well as breeding and resting birds were carried out on the study areas for puddle development and in the search rooms. Due to the large number of invertebrate species in the area, the investigations had to be limited to a few taxa with a high indicator value (first beetles, spiders, macrobenthos, oligochaetes).
