Report: “Investigation Fish Death Dollart (October 1989)”
Description
On 23.10.1989 a fish die was discovered on the German side of the dollar, which fell victim to about one ton of stinth. As the most likely cause, oxygen deficiency can be assumed, which was caused by the entry heavily organically contaminated wastewater from the Westerwold Aa. This water regularly exhibits anaerobic conditions during the winter season — during the potato processing industry campaign. However, the suspicion of the influence of toxic substances cannot be completely eliminated.
