In summer 1982, a survey of intertidal macrovegetation in the Weser estuary was carried out. Combined with the results of anterior floristic investigations the vegetation of the whole area is described and represented in maps. With regard to the dominant species the area exhibits three zones of different bank vegetation:

In the summer of 1982, an inventory of the eulitoral plant communities in the lower and outer Weser was carried out and summarised with previous vegetation images of the area into an overall representation. The seaside boundary of the study area lies at Fedderwarder Siel (Butjadingen) or Spieka (Land Wursten), the riverside at the north end of Harrier Sands. According to the existing species, three sections of different shore flora can be identified:
