Description
In the course of an update mapping was carried out in the
Years 1987-1990 an inventory of the eulitoral
Macrozoobenthos in Western Juister Watt.
A total of 102 stations were sampled. The study area covers 109 km²
it is divided into 10 biotopes, which are characteristic of the Wadden Coast with comparable settlement. In
78 species of macrozoobenthos were detected. The abundance and biomass
determined. In the intertidal area between the East Frisian island
Juist and the mainland, part of the Wadden Sea
actualising survey of the intertidal Macrozoobenthos
was conducted during 1987 until 1990. The
investigation area has an extension of 109 km² and is
subdivided into 10 habitats of which the comparable
faunal communities are characteristic for the coastal
reaches of the whole Wadden Sea. The habitates are arranged in a distinct pattern that reflects an
exposure gradient from highly exposed (facing the
seaside) to sheltered (close to the mainland, behind)
the island). 78 animal species were found in the area.
