Report: Macrozoobenthos: Baltrum Watt (1952)»

Description

In the summer months of 1952, the sediment-inhabiting communities in the dry-falling part of the Baltrumer Watts (eastern part of the Norderneyer Wadden Watershed) were examined and their colonisation areas were mapped. The changes in position to which the wadding floor has been subjected in recent times are generally low throughout the study area. To the east of the Norderneyer Watthohen, the Ostgat shows an elevation directed towards SSW in the northern and eastern part of the Norderney Wadden Sheath. A shifting effort of these rulings to 0 does not appear to be excluded, but at the moment it is not yet clearly proven. In the area west of Nessmersiler Balje and Nessmer Tief, a drainage of the sediment under the formation of a flat trough is noticeable. — The Nessmer low is in the south-east direction in advance. — Progressive flattening can be observed north of the northern arm of the Nessmersiel Balje. In the area of the “knee” of the Western Balje, relocations are expected. The southern part of this gutter continues to advance to 0. The Baltrumer Plate, in particular its northern section (former northern trough) is subject to progressive elevation and consolidation. — The influence of the Northern Balje on the Baltrum Plate appears to be amplified. — Relocation tendencies of the Baltrumer Watthohen are not clearly detectable.
