Report: “Zostera (Seegrass): Practice Test Monitoring Coast (2008)”
Description
“In the context of the surveillance in accordance with the WFD and TMAP, a total stock collection of the eulitoral seaweeds on the Lower Saxony coast was carried out in 2008. This is the first comprehensive mapping of the seagrass stock of the Lower Saxon mudflats, which during a growing season
it was carried out. Data on the location, area size and population density of all seagrass meadows encountered were recorded. Biomass was also determined for selected stocks. The data currently collected shall be compared as far as possible with the results of previous investigations, in particular with the area sizes determined during the last total mapping of 2000-03.”
