“In July 2007, the NLWKN Brake/Oldenburg office commissioned the BioConsult Schuchardt & Scholle GbR office to prepare the report on “Measure planning in the transition and coastal waters of Lower Saxony in the course of the implementation of the Water Framework Directive”. The task of the current opinion was to draw up recommendations for the alignment of the measures to achieve objectives within the meaning of the WFD in the coastal and transitional waters of Lower Saxony by 2015. The opinion should thus broaden the technical basis for drawing up the relevant action programmes. In order to advance the process of defining measures for the management period up to 2015, some of the recommended types of measures will now be located, concretised and justified as part of a supplementary contract and the necessary further planning steps will be identified.
