Report: ‘WRRL: Jade: significantly altered waters? (2007)’
Description
“The coastal waters of the Weser, including the Jade, have not (provisionally) been designated as significantly altered bodies of water (HMWB) within the meaning of the Water Framework Directive (WFD), as the anthropogenic changes in morphology are not significant in terms of impairment of good ecological status. Provisional expulsions should be reviewed by 2009. However, in the area of internal jade and also restricted jadebusen (WRRL coastal waters type N2 euhalines Wadden Sea), major anthropogenic measures have taken place in the past, so that there have been significant local changes in morphology. These changes and their possible effects on the biological aquatic quality components macrozoobenthos and macrophytes (seagras) should be analysed in their interactions and discussed against the background of the above-mentioned context in order to broaden the technical basis for the pending review of the preliminary designation taking into account the CIS guide. The study will consider both the designated water body as a whole and different subspaces.”
