Collection and presentation of ecosystem services.
Description
In this report, the most important ecosystem services for Austria are presented in maps nationwide for the first time. The quantitative recording of these ecosystem services is carried out by means of selected indicators, which are described as well as the methods used and the data bases taken into account. This presentation of the current state of ecosystem services can be seen as a basis for identifying future trends in the use of ecosystem services. The results of the report thus contribute to the implementation of the EU Biodiversity Strategy and serve as a means of communication to raise public awareness. In addition, they enable policy makers to plan necessary measures to secure our livelihoods, ecosystems and services.
