Suspected sludge pit areas
Description
On this map, the areas suspected of sludge pits are classified according to the results of the working group drilling and oil sludge pits and the extraction measure for the investigation of oil and drilling sludge pits (FM-ÖBSG) valid from 01.01.2016. Which locations can be investigated within the framework of the FM-ÖBSG is regulated in the settlement agreement.

Excluded (according to §2(3) of the settlement agreement) are, for example, mixed pits (e.g. other stored waste in addition to drilling sludge). They are shown in the map as ‘suspected area recorded’.
The aim is to provide as comprehensive an overview as possible of the drilling and oil sludge pits existing in Lower Saxony and the current processing status within the framework of the FM-ÖBSG. It is initially presented as a suspected sludge pit area, as it is only after further investigations that statements can be made about its existence and potential for danger.
