Urban waste water treatment; process data sludge dewatering
Description
This table contains figures on urban or public sewage treatment plants managed by water boards. This table provides information on the sludge dewatering sub-process. The sewage sludge released during the treatment process must be dewatered in order to facilitate further transport and processing. The publication provides information for each dewatering method on the quantities of sludge and the average percentages of dry matter before and after the dewatering process.
Please note: no national totals or averages can be given because certain batches of sludge go through several dewatering steps. Addition of the quantities per method therefore results in a double counting. The method dimension of sludge dewatering was expanded in 2018 with a new item: Screw press.
Data available from: 1981. Publication from 2016 once every two years.
