Urban waste water treatment; by province and river basin district
Description
This table contains figures on urban or public sewage treatment plants managed by the water boards. The table gives, by province and by river basin district (Rhine, Meuse, Ems and Scheldt), the following results:
- the numbers and design capacity of urban wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs), by treatment type.
- the loads and concentrations of organic substances, nutrients and heavy metals in the input waste water (influent) and the treated waste water (effluent). As of 2017, data on heavy metals will only be published for even years.
- the quantities and destination of the sewage sludge released, including the nutrients and heavy metals contained therein. As of 2017, these data will only be published for the even years.

The figures in this table are final.
Changes as of 22 April 2024:
Figures for 2022 have been added to the table.
When will there be new figures?
The new figures for 2023 will be published in March 2025.
