Surface Water Quality Indicators: Ammonium content in rivers (2021)
Description
The amount of nutrients in the water is increased by human activity in the territory, and therefore its measurement can be used to assess water quality. The increase in its concentration triggers eutrophy processes, so it is essential to carry out regular checks on the amount of nutrients.
Among the nutrients analysed periodically is ammonium, which is a nitrogen compound. For this indicator, the value of the limit established in the RDSE between the good and moderate status for each type of river has been chosen as a boundary value. The typologies without legal limit have been recorded as “No Valuation”.
