Ground map of Lower Saxony 1 : 50 000 - Soils as compensators in the water balance (AKWH) (1971-2000)

Description

The map shows the assessment of soils as compensators in the water balance for the 30-year period 1971-2000. Basically, all unsealed soils are a balancing element in the water balance (AKWH). They absorb water and release it again with a delay. In addition, water is passed through them into deeper layers. The soils thus act as intermediate reservoirs in the landscape water balance. The method summarizes all the components, e.g. the water conductivity and the water storage capacity in an evaluation scheme for the assessment of the retention of water in the soil. Central is the evaluation of retention performance and infiltration performance.
