Nature in protected areas (NiN)
Description
The data set shows the nature areas in the mapping scale 1:5000 by the type and description system Nature in Norway (NiN). The mapping has been carried out in accordance with the Norwegian Environment Agency’s instructions for basic mapping in protected areas. Basiskartlegg entails area-wide mapping of nature conservation areas (or selected sub-areas in nature conservation areas). The knowledge base from the basic mapping is used, among other things, to prioritise management measures in protected areas and document changes/effects as a result of the measures. The dataset consists of polygons, with either one or more mapping units in mapping scale 1:5000. The proportion of each mapping unit in a composite polygon is given in 10 parts. Characteristics are linked to the individual mapping unit. The nature and description system Nature in Norway documents the academic content. The boundaries are evenly precise, with good professional precision.
