Description
The Map of Crops and Harvests of Spain at a scale of 1:50,000 from the years 1980-1990, generated by the old MAPA, corresponds to a cartography at the national level on the uses and uses of the soil.
This map began in the 70s and ended in the 90s, being a paper edition. Subsequently it was digitized, being able to dispose in digital format this collection in the year 1992.
This cartography delimits and describes the crops and uses of the soil throughout the national territory, through the use of codes, which are grouped into uses and overloads.
The codes used are texts that have associated superscripts and subscripts, in order to accurately describe the crop represented. Thus, the subscripts and superscripts used are:
- Numerical sub-indices and super-indices: percentages of land cover and land cover respectively.
- The superscripts ‘r’ (repopulation), ‘mb’ (low mountain), ‘lz’ (latizal) and ‘f’ (fustal) can also be found in forest stands.
- In vineyards and olive groves we can find the superscript: “t” (processing), “m” (table), “v” (green) and “a” (almazara)
- The superscript “*” indicates that there is a small percentage of species not included in the mosaic or association code indicated in the enclosure.
The crops and harvests specified in the map are grouped into the following uses:

The coverage is polygonal and comes from the Directorate-General for Agriculture. It is projected on ETRS89.
The data is stored in ArcInfo's SDE Feature Class and distributed in shp, E00, dxf and PDF.
