Dive points INFRAGOM_1021

Description

The information contained in this dataset represents the dive points carried out as Exits to the Sea carried out between 25 and 29 October 2021. This is the representation of the spatial distribution of the different diving points where the flora and fauna censuses established in the Rocky Infralittoral Monitoring Program were carried out, together with the study areas of habitat 8330, submerged or semi-submerged marine caves in the SACs of the Canary Islands. The area covered by the data provided covers the island of La Gomera in the Canary Islands Marine Demarcation. It is a data set composed of point elements, where each element represents the exact point of immersion. Each object is associated with a series of alphanumeric variables such as the coordinates, the date and time at which the dive was carried out, the name of the dive site, the orientation with which the first and fourth transect begins at each dive point and the number of transects or censuses carried out in each dive, being: N_PECES= number of fish and cephalopod transects. N_ALGAS= number of algal transects. N_INVERT= number of invertebrate transects. N_VERTIC= number of vertical profiles. N_ALOCT= number of non-native species specific monitorings. N_CAVES= tracking number of submerged and semi-submerged caves. N_CATALO= number of species-specific follow-ups catalogued. N_RASPAD= number of scrapes (biodiversity). The geographical information collected is stored in a spatial database. This work has been financed thanks to the project ‘Technical Scientific Advice for the Protection of the Marine Environment: Evaluation and Monitoring of Marine Strategies, Monitoring of Protected Marine Areas of State Competence (2018-2024)’. Marine Strategies are the marine environmental planning instrument created under Directive 2008/56/EC (as amended by Directive 2017/845) establishing a framework for Community action in the field of marine environmental policy (Marine Strategy Framework Directive), and have as their main objective the achievement of the Good Environmental Status (GES) of our seas. The 11 Good Environmental Status descriptors form the basis for the description and determination of good environmental status of the marine environment. They are established by the Directive in its Annex I. The marine assessment areas are located within the Marine Reporting Units (MRUs) defined in the framework of the Marine Strategies of Spain.
