Description
This table provides figures on non-chemical control methods, or alternative weed management, by government agencies. The public institutions concerned are: municipalities, water boards, provincial institutions, Rijkswaterstaat and the Ministry of Defence.
The table shows by group of public institutions (municipalities and other public institutions) the areas to which different management methods are applied. In addition to the areas, the number of municipalities applying the method can also be seen.
The study also collected data on the use of chemical pesticides by government agencies. These are presented in another table (see paragraph 3. Links to relevant tables and articles).

All figures are final.
Amendments as of 21 March 2023:
None, this table has been discontinued.
Changes as of 7 February 2020:
The underlying encodings of the classifications (Government Institutions) used in this table have been adjusted.
These are now in line with the standard codes laid down by CBS. The structure and data of the table have not been adjusted.
Changes as of 29 August 2019:
— the figures for 2018 have been added.
— the application sectors have been expanded to include sports fields and railway tracks.
— thermal methods have been extended with hot water sensor controlled.
— municipalities have been updated with data from comparable municipalities from the statistics on land use.
Changes as of 29 September 2017:
— the figures for 2013 have been added.
— municipalities have been updated with response data from 2009 and data from (by province and size class) comparable municipalities from the soil use statistics.
