Municipal waste; quantities
Description
This table provides information on the amount of municipal waste, broken down by type of waste and method of processing. The figures are given for the Netherlands total, for parts of the country and provinces, and for size class and urbanity of municipalities. The size class is based on the number of inhabitants of the municipalities.
The statistics relate only to waste collected by or on behalf of the municipalities. As an exception, textiles and waste paper and cardboard collected by charitable organisations, schools and associations are counted.
Data available from: 1993.
Status of the figures:
The figures for 2018, 2019 and 2020 are further provisional; all other figures are final.
Amendments as of 17 December 2021:
Final figures for 2017 and new further preliminary figures for 2018, 2019 and 2020 have been added.
When are new figures coming?
Preliminary figures for 2021 are expected in June 2022.
