Description
From the field of plant genetic resources, Germany provides data on the national gene bank holdings for the BLE Open Data Platform. This includes the collections of the national ex-situ gene bank of the Leibniz Institute for Plant Genetics and Crop Research (IPK), the German Genbank Obst, the German Genbank Reben, the German Genebank Ornamental Plants, the Genebank for Wild Plants for Food and Agriculture (WEL), the Genebank Tabak and information on current breeders provided by German growers for the Multilateral System of the International Seed Treaty.
To ensure efficient data exchange, the data fields comply with the internationally agreed requirements of the EURISCO exchange format, which is mainly based on the “Multi-Crop Passport Descriptor List” by FAO and Bioversity International.
