Nature reserves in Hamburg

The protected area boundaries of the protected areas are provided as vector coordinates according to the coordinate system EPSG::25832.
Hamburg is at the forefront of the designation of nature reserves nationwide. Over 9% of its land area is currently protected nature reserves (NSG), a value that no other federal state even comes close to. In addition to the Hamburg Wadden Sea National Park, nature reserves are the most strictly protected natural areas in Hamburg. Here, the objectives of nature conservation and landscape maintenance have the greatest possible, if possible even absolute priority over all other usage claims.
