Regional plan for Uusimaa
Description
The confirmed regional plan covers the region of Uusimaa before the municipalities of Eastern Uusimaa join the county. It includes, for all forms of land use, the principles of land use and urban structure long into the future.
The plan was confirmed by the Ministry of the Environment on 8 November 2006. The plan became final when, on 15 August 2007, the Korkein hallinto-oikeus (Supreme Administrative Court) dismissed all nine appeals for confirmation.
The plan was confirmed in accordance with the decision of the Provincial Council of December 2004, with the exception of three areas suitable for wind power production and one area of urban operations in Vantaa.
The unconfirmed wind power areas are located in the southern seas of Syndalen, Ekenäs and Espoo. The unconfirmed area of urban operations is located in the nationally valuable rock area of Petikko-Herrmanskärret.
The decision repealed the regional plans previously in force in Uusimaa and the regional plan for western Uusimaa
The entries in the Uusimaa regional plan have been repealed in their entirety with the provincial plans adopted later. See the up-to-date planning situation on the Uusimaa Regional Council’s website.
