Chemical-Physical Treatment Plants in Austria 2009
Description
The report of the Federal Environment Agency describes 44 plants for chemical-physical waste treatment. In 2009, 17 establishments treated organic waste, 10 plants processed exclusively inorganic waste and 15 were operated as combined plants; Two plants were out of service. The annual maximum processing capacity of these plants is about one million tons of waste per year, the processed amount was about 600,000 tons. In addition to the processing capacity, the type and quantity of waste treated, the procedures used, the various disposal and recovery routes and the remaining quantities of residual material are also presented. The results of the study will be included in the Federal Waste Management Plan 2011.
