Node value per ha - state 2022
Description
This map shows the total score for the node value of collective transport for each 1 ha location in the Flemish and Brussels-Capital Regions, taking into account the nodes that are part of the rail network (train, tram, (pre) metro, light rail) and the A-bus stops of De Lijn, for the existing nodes in reference year 2022. The nodes that are charged are all nodes that are part of the rail network and are therefore served by the collective transport by rail (train, tram, (pre) metro, light rail) in Flanders and Brussels and a selection of bus stops of De Lijn and STIB. With regard to railway stations, these in Wallonia, which can be reached from Flanders or Brussels by rail (including e.g. Liège or Namur), and a selection of railway stations abroad (including Paris Nord, London St Pancras or Aachen), are also charged. Unlike in 'state 2015', which was the result of the original study, we assume the following for the selection of bus stops: Only bus stops where lines with at least a 30+/-5 minute frequency run two the same stops after each other during off-peak hours (Tuesday/Thursday between 13h and 15h) will be charged. All lines calling at these bus stops (including those with e.g. an hourly frequency) are included in the calculation of the indicators. First, the node value of the individual nodes is calculated through a weighted or unweighted aggregation of a number of sub-indicators described in the specialised literature. Afterwards, the node value radiates to each ha grid cell in the Flemish and Brussels-Capital Regions via distance decay functions, which show how the node value decreases as the travel time to the node increases.
