Description
The influent cargo is the cargo of a pollutant that arrives at a WWTP. The influent cargo is mainly composed of household and industrial cargoes. In addition, diffuse sources, such as atmospheric deposition, can also contribute to the influent cargo via parasitic connections.The effluent cargo is the residual cargo after treatment of the waste water discharged into surface water by a WWTP. The effluent cargo therefore taxes the surface water. The share of WWTP effluents in total surface water pollution varies from 15 % for nitrogen to 35 % for chemical oxygen demand.The total flow rate accruing to WWTPs broadly follows the annual precipitation.Influent loads increased in the period 2011-2020.The effluent loads show no pronounced evolution.
