Evaluation of the Waste Prevention Strategy 2006

As a focus of the Federal Waste Management Plan 2006, a waste prevention and recycling strategy was developed with seven bundles of measures: - Prevention and recovery of construction waste - Construction waste recycling - Input and/or output optimization for waste incineration and the use of waste as substitute raw materials or substitute fuels - Product-related material flow analysis - Nickel-cadmium accumulators - Reusable packaging - Service instead of product The Federal Environment Agency examines the state of implementation of these measures and makes recommendations for the continuation of measures that have already begun or for new measures. Implementation is broadly in line with expectations. The experience gained will be incorporated into the 2011 waste prevention programme.
