Map Archive White area maps in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania
Description
Map-based representation of geological and hydrogeological facts in submaps in scale 1:50,000. Presentation of “white areas” from an environmental geological point of view to identify potential sites for landfills. For this purpose, surfaces with suitable binding sediments were presented as a natural geological barrier as well as areas with unsuitable sediments. The groundwater dynamics with the groundwater flow direction as well as areas or locations with various restrictions (drinking water conservation areas, groundwater retention areas, mining protected areas, natural and landscape conservation areas and soil denkmals) were presented.
