Presentation of the landscape open spaces in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

Uncut landscape open spaces are areas of the landscape that are free of construction, fortified roads, main railway lines and wind turbines. The free space structure analysis is carried out as a lineament-effect zone analysis. Disruptive or cutting-edge elements (cutting elements) are provided with effective zones. The areas remaining after deduction of the effective zones with a minimum size of 25 ha are the core areas of landscape open spaces. For the core areas of landscape open spaces, it was determined:- Size classes as the result of analysis (free space statistics) and evaluation of the protection rating — further evaluation categories: Degree of naturalness, secondary cutting, low-traffic spaces (only in MV). The compilation of the data in shape files and editing of attribute tables and legends took place in the LUNG in 2002.
The basis for the determination of the uncirculated spaces in M-V are some selected landscape features, which were collected digitally in the context of the BMBF research project “Impacts and functions of uncirculated landscape spaces for vertebrate species with large spatial requirements” using TK 1:50,000 (LVA/status 1984-1992).
The evaluation of landscape open spaces is primarily carried out according to function-oriented size classes. Secondary evaluation criteria include, for example, the combined naturalness of the biotope types in the open space or the traffic frequency of the cutting axes. The latter feature results in a representation of low-traffic landscaped open space complexes.
