Description
In 2022, an average of around 36% of the measuring wells were found to exceed the standard of 50 mg nitrate per litre. As in 2021, the situation deteriorated again in 2022.
Excessive nitrate concentrations complicate certain uses of groundwater such as the production of drinking water and can disturb natural values (e.g. eutrophication of surface water and terrestrial ecosystems).
