Fish farming contexts — Métropole
Description
The fish environment is a component of the hydrographic system defined by a biological criterion. It is the spatial unit in which a fish population operates autonomously. It is established for a reference population whose characteristics are fish range representativeness and ecosensitivity. The fish context is defined according to the fish domain and the functional status of the stand in question.
It is related to fish zoning of the stream. Three stand types were identified based on the original potential of the fish environment.
— Salmon farming (S): in salmon farming, the natural characteristics of the environment are suitable for the requirements of Fario Trout and accompanying species.
— Intermediate (I): in the intermediate domain, the natural characteristics of the environment are suitable for the requirements of common shade and whitewater cyprinids.
— Cyprinary (C): in the cyprinary domain, the natural characteristics of the environment are suitable for the requirements of calm water cyprinids and their predators (carnassiers).
