Emission cadastre for air pollutants and greenhouse gases
Description
Every two years, the Department of Air Quality of Environmental and Health Protection compiles an emission register from the most important sources of air pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions within the city of Zurich. The emissions are accounted for and spatially displayed over a calendar year. The emissions register provides information on where in the city how many pollutants and greenhouse gases are emitted.
The data of the emission register come from surveys, emission measurements and emission calculations. The emission levels in the cadastre are to be understood as an assessment and do not constitute official or binding information. The data on CO2 emissions are direct emissions and not CO2 statistics according to the CO2 Act.
The following air pollutants and greenhouse gases are included:
Channel 1: Russ (BC)
Channel 2: benzene
Channel 3: Methane (CH4)
Channel 4: Carbon monoxide (CO)
Channel 5: Carbon dioxide (CO2)
Channel 6: Nitrous oxide (N2O)
Channel 7: Ammonia (NH3)
Channel 8: Nitrogen oxides (NOx)
Channel 9: Particulate matter (PM10)
Channel 10: Particulate matter (PM2.5)
Channel 11: Sulphur dioxide (SO2)
Channel 12: Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)
